2020 Most Endangered Nominations Now Open

Nominations for the 2020 list of Louisiana's Most Endangered sites are now open through March 8, 2020.  If you know of a site that needs a little extra attention or could be threatened with demolition or neglect, take the next step and complete this nomination form. Since 1999, over 130 sites have been added to the list - view the database here.

Heritage Happy Hour - Next Stop New Orleans

LTHP Revolving Fund Closes 2019 with Donation of 3 Buildings

Our Revolving Fund Program continues to grow, with the donation of three historic buildings in the last weeks of 2019.   The Paul Kidd Family donated the Hotel Monroe to LTHP, so its historic character could be maintained through preservation easements.  The three-story masonry building constructed in 1900, is approximately 25,200 sq. ft. and overlooks the Ouachita River.   Philip Killian of Winnsboro, donated two 1920s commercial buildings to the revolving fund, in memory of his mother.  Ray Scriber, LA Main Street Director, and the Main Street Managers of Monroe and Winnsboro were instrumental in connecting the donors to LTHP, in order to save the buildings.  

Louisiana Trust's Revolving Fund began in 2015 and has directly saved a number of endangered historic buildings.   Properties are acquired, stabilized, marketed and sold with preservation easements, which will protect them into the future.  As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.  If you would like more information about LTHP's Revolving Fund or preservation easements, contact Brian Davis at 318.267.5220 or bdavis@LTHP.org.
